First names only

Record each learner by first name only. Never add surnames, class/grade codes, or other identifying details to names or comments, the workspace flags likely slips, and reports merge context back in when you print them.

Feedback vs feed-forward

Feedback describes what the evidence shows against the criteria. Feed-forward names the one next move the learner can act on tomorrow, start it with a verb."Add the one piece of evidence that would convince a skeptic" beats "needs more detail."

Transfer, not recall

When judging summative work, ask: does the evidence show the understanding in a new context, or recall of the taught examples? Judge the understanding the unit was designed for.

Moderation

Every record saved here appears in Moderation records, where it can be second-marked, standardised and signed off. Coordinators see the whole school.
